This alteration will install fuel tanks in the wings and modify the fuel system for this alteration

Additional information will be shown in the appropriate section

Step 01: Make the outboard rib as shown.
The angle at the top is removable to install the tank

The hole at the top front is for the fuel vent.

Step 02: Make the next two ribs by riveting one right and one left ribs back to back.
Then cut out as shown
The angle at the top is removable to install the tank

05/30/15

Step 03: Make the inboard rib as shown.

Step 06: Test Fit The new Tank.
Step 07: Install a new rib at each end of the fuel tank and match drill into the bottom skin and rear spar.

07/16/16

Step 08: Pop Rivet dimple die the new holes for flush rivets.

07/16/16

Step 09:  Make two right and two left rib assemblies with a .030 2024 T3 shear connection to the main spar.

07/17/16
Step 10: Add a .071 2024 T3 doubler to the back of the rear spar to take the  loads to the ribs at the outboard ends of the tanks

07/17/16

Step 11: After design review with a few engineers, I added two additional ribs and a rear spar doubler at the back of the tank.

The thought is that this design will help carry the wing loads in the tank area to the main spar.

This will also help next to the wing walk area.
