Page 08.02 Top Mount Reinforcement |

| Reinforcement for the
top engine mount. Step: 01 Make the F-1202B Panel Base Doubler from a F-1202 Panel Base. ( order from Van's ) Cut out as shown in photo at the right. 01/26/13 |

| Step: 02 Cleco the
F1202B Panel Base Doubler under the F-1202 Panel Base and mark the fan
holes as shown in the photo on the right. Remove the clecos and mark the center of the two fan cutouts. 01/26/13 |

| Step: 03 Use the
appropriate size hole saws to cut out the fan holes then use the
appropriate size drum sander to open the holes to the size required. 01/26/13 |

| Step: 04 File the top
front end of the right and left F-1255 Longerons to match the radius of the front of
the new panel base doubler 01/27/13 |

| Step: 05 Cleco the
F-1202B Panel Base Doubler to the bottom of the F-1202 Panel Base.
Make a template to draw a radius on the doubler flange as shown 01/27/13 |

| Step:06 Cut the doubler
as shown then match-drill and cleco as you go 01/27/13 |

| Step: 07 This doubler
help the engine loads get to the longerons. 01/27/13 |

Step: 08 Radius the ends of the doubler as shown this will fit down in
front of the F-1255 Longerons. The radius you filed in the top of the
front end of the Longerons in Step:4 should match the bend radius of the
flange bend in the new doubler. 01/27/13 |

| Step: 09 Make a engine
mount back-up reinforcement doubler out of 4130 steel. 03/24/14 |

| Step: 10 Match drill
all the holes into the doubler as shown. 03/24/14 |
