This alteration will install fuel tanks in the wings and modify the fuel system for this alteration

Additional information will be shown in the appropriate section

Step 03: Make two wing tank vent flanges.

09/07/15
Step 04: Mill flat on two sides.

09/07/15
Step 05: Layout then drill a hole in the bottom wing skin.

Temporally install a 1/8" NPT
fitting in the hole in the skin to center the bulkhead fitting.

Square the fitting to the rib and match drill to the skin, cleco as you go.

09/19/15
Step 06: Remove the fitting, scuff, clean and prime.

The countersink holes were necessary for the length of rivets used.

Builder Note: This bulkhead should have a thinner flange about .090 not .125.

09/20/15
Step 07: Install Vent Line.

09/20/15
Step 08: Vent from left wing tank.

Builder Note: I added a mount for a second AHRS in the wing in case I wanted to add one later

11/08/15
Step 09: Vent from right wing tank.
Step 10: Left wing tank is vented to the outer end of the left wing.

See Step:08
Step 11: The right wing is vented the same way as the left tank.

The black fuel hose is the vent from the header tank.

I used a hose so I could transfer fuel to the to the right tank through the header tank, this will assure the header tank is full.

01/06/17
The header tank is a little over 2 gallons.

Step 12: From left to right
1: Fuel out to front fuel pump
2: Not used at this time
3: Fuel in from right tank
4: Fuel in from left tank
5: Vent to right tank

The fuel sender is at the back of the tank, this will help to alarm as soon as the float moves from full.
